    Neighborhood Natural Area Network

    Neighborhood Natural Area Network

    Neighborhood Natural Area Network

Many natural areas are located near residential neighborhoods. These natural areas, in combination with nearby residential yards, can be managed to provide habitat for a variety of wildlife species and conserve natural resources such as water and energy. The goals of the Neighborhood Natural Area Network are 1) to raise awareness about the value of these natural areas and important connections between nearby yards and neighborhoods and 2) to improve communication and management actions among residents in order to conserve both wildlife habitat and natural resources and to provide opportunities to view wildlife in residential and natural areas.

If interested in learning more about Neighborhood Natural Area Network and perhaps having your neighborhood or community group join the network, please contact Dr. Mark Hostetler (hostetm@ufl.edu).
